The Countryside Ranger Service provides an annual programme of countryside walks and events for the public. Our aim is to broaden the knowledge and awareness of, and raise an interest in, nature, wildlife, and the countryside.

For all events - Meet outside the Information Hut. Please wear comfortable walking shoes, suitable clothes and come prepared for the changeable weather! It is inadvisable to bring dogs but if you have to please make sure they are on a non-telescopic lead.

Summer Events Programme

Wednesday 4th, 11th, 18th & 25th August

Wild on Wednesdays

Tune in to your wild this summer - Every Wednesday through August. Join the Rangers in a range of different activities and get to learn more about the park including:

Pond dipping, Mini-beasting, Owl pellets, Predators and prey

Time :		11am - 1pm
Admission :		£2 for adults, £1.00 for children & concessions. All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Friday 27th August

Night Safari

Lots of things crawl and creep around at night, bring a torch to surprise the shy night animals of Bedfont Lakes.

Time :		8 pm - 10 pm
Admission :		£2 for adults, £1.00 for children & concessions. All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Sunday 29th August

Family Fun Day

J.Laing Integrated Services present this family day as a replacement for the annual Country Fair.

Included in the event will be the following activities :

Crazy Bears entertainment shows

Billy Bubbles, who will wow the audience with balloon modelling

A craft studio workshop for children

Funfair rides for children

There may be another special amusement for children but this has yet to be confirmed.

Time :

12 pm - 5 pm

Admission :

Entry to the event is open to all members of the public and free to attend.
Car parking will be charged at £5.00 per vehicle.

Parking for blue disabled badge holders will be free at the event. Badges must be displayed in the car and a specially located area at the park will be reserved for disabled drivers – entrance at Bedfont Road.

Bird Walk

Spot migrant birds on passage to faraway land, see the autumn migration at Bedfont Lakes. (All abilities welcome.)

Autumn Events Programme

Autumn Art & Leaf Trail

Catch the first sights of autumn and join us on a leafy trail through the park. We will also spend time using an autumn theme to create some art.

Fungus Foray

Find out about the fungi growing at Bedfont Lakes. Learn about what’s poisonous, what isn’t and how to tell the difference. Hunt for the mysterious fungi that appear overnight such as Wood Blewit and Shaggy Ink Cap.
