After years of campaigning by the Friends of Bedfont Lakes Country Park, Hounslow Council has now confirmed that the south side of the park will at last be open fully to the public every day from Tuesday 20th March.
THE FRIENDS of Bedfont Lakes Country Park have been thanked for buying new pond dipping equipment for local youngsters to enjoy.
Members pooled together to replace the park's old and unsuitable stock, which will be used by local school children.
In February 2008 the Friends secured funding from the Capital Community Foundation, Londonations Fund, to provide some much needed play equipment for our younger visitors. There have been unavoidable delays in completing the project but we are pleased to announce that the new Springies are now in place and ready to use.
The Friends Group have been successful in their application for funding for a new raft for breeding terns at Bedfont Lakes. The funding has been provided by the Thames Community Foundation and this is an important project for our community.
In coincidence with national microchipping month, nurses from Willett House Veterinary Surgery will be taking their successful nurses clinics to Bedfont Lakes Country Park.
On 26th April 2007 the Friends of Bedfont Lakes Country Park became a Registered Charity. This means that we will be able to apply for grants and other funds that are only open to registered charities. More information on what this charitable status means will appear here shortly.
