THE WILDLIFE

Amphibians     Birds     Fish     Invertebrates     Mammals

Over the years since 1995 Bedfont Lakes Country Park has developed into a rich pocket of nature and visitors have had the privilege of witnessing a steady increase in numerous species of wildlife. 140 bird species have been recorded in the park and It is known to be a staging point for birds on their migration journeys. Also, many birds that were once rarely seen are now regular visitors to the park and some have nested there.

We have also watched the emergence of a natural meadow landscape which in itself plays host to many more small creatures. The protected species, bats, have also been sited in the park. With careful nurturing, the park has become an oasis that has encouraged a variation of wildlife to visit and thrive.

Follow the links above to find out more about the creatures who live in or visit Bedfont Lakes Country Park.
